Hedgehog in Slovakia

After the SS09 Werkschau, Hyung Suk Cha a.k.a Paul, Tony Clark, Edgar Chu, Andrew Rumble from the 1st semester, and I set out on a road trip to Tomas Beres' home country, Slovakia!

This is the first trip for the Hedgehog, and where the idea of visiting everyone's home came from.....

9 hours of driving the rented Ford Galaxy, arriving to the capitol of Slovakia, Bratislava.

Some memories from Bratislava

After Bratislava, Tomas and his parents invited us to their weekend house in the mountains, which........ I've forgotten the name of the village!! (Tomas! Someone! Fill me in!!) From there, we drove around to see some of the other cities of Slovakia.

Next stop........ was Nitra, but it seems like I didn't take any pictures with the Hedgehog there.....
These are the photos from Kremnica, where Tomas went to high school. Beautiful city, entertained with stories of Tomas' youth! hehehe

At the top of the Skalka ski resort close to Kremnica.

Really good trip, and a beautiful country. Thanks for having us Tomas!!
I'm sure Hedgehog enjoyed the fresh air away from the stuffy air inside the studio drawers!!

The Hedgehog

As Tony have explained already, we have been given the legendary CAD lab key mascot "The Hedgehog" from Andreas. I don't know how long he goes back, but he certainly has been a part of my Pforzheim experience.

He shall be traveling around the world, visiting the places where our friends come from. As far as I know, he is traveling with Royal Post and Deutsche Post now, heading back towards Pforzheim so that he can go on to his next destination.

I've spoken to other Masters (that's you Mr. Johnson!) and maybe we should come up with a name for the little dude. A very butch, German name..... Any recommendations? Also, if you would like to take him to your home country, let us know!! His next destinations in line are, Korea, Japan, Australia!

The Adventures of Computer Lab Hedgehog.

Hello all.

During the years of the PF masters course, many of you will have used the computer room. And to access this sacred room, was a special guardian and keeper of the key. Yep, it was the Hedgehog! Everyone from our semester knows what the Hedgehog is - and hopefully past graduates recognise it too!

But so what? Well, at the end of Summer Semester 2009, Andreas gave us the Hedgehog. So, we thought (or perhaps Satoshi thought) it would be a great idea for it to travel the world, visiting all the places that past, present and future students come from. If you've seen the French film Amelie and can remember the travelling Gnome, you'll get the idea.

Hedgehog's first adventure was to Slovakia, as a small road trip with a few of us after we graduated. Hopefully those pictures will appear soon! In the mean time, however, the Hedgehog has come with me to North-East England.

So here are a few images showing where he/she/it has been. I have been to Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbourgh (not through choice!), Newcastle, South Sheilds, Finchale Abbey, Consett...Everywhere. Hopefully you can get a taste of what my area is like, and I look forward to seeing where else it manages to travel to.

Tony.

Jim Clark Revival '09 (25, April)

Jim Clark Revival @ Hockenheim
My second experience of this event. Just seeing all the classic cars, hearing the awesome noise, getting covered in smoke, the smell of oil.... Ending up with a nice tan. One of the nicest car events I have ever been to.

Motorshows and museums are cool, but you never get to see them in action!

One sad image: Remains of Honda F-1 team.....
